In 1941 Tux Bowers was awarded the Oldsmobile franchise by General Motors and operated as Tux Bowers Motors located at 200 West Union St. in Morganton, NC. |

In 1957 Tux Bowers moved to 304 S. Green St. in Morganton and in 1963 acquired the Dodge franchise from Chrysler. John Greene Sr. son-in-law of Tux Bowers joined the dealership in 1963. Following the death of Tux Bowers in 1972 John Greene Sr. became the dealer and the name was changed to Bowers - Greene Motor Co. Inc. John Greene Jr. joined the dealership full time in 1982. In 2001 the Greenes acquired the local Chrysler Jeep franchise and shortly after formed John Greene Chrysler Dodge Jeep, L.L.C. |
